At Raw World Company we are proud to have partnered with Nowek Ltd, a family owned and operated coffee company in the Eastern Highlands of Papua New Guinea. We are looking forward to being a part of their vision to deliver quality New Guinea Highlands coffee direct to the global market whilst maintaining a commitment to improving the local Papua New Guinean community.
Nowek believe in the longevity of sustainable practices, investing in education and improving the communities they are involved in. Through their coffee rejuvenation initiative, Growing Futures - Coffee Seedling Program, Nowek empower their local communities by donating Arabica Coffee seedlings to be cultivated by local farmers allowing them to produce a sustainable source of income. Nowek set themselves a target of donating 100,000 seedlings each year to surrounding communities and schools throughout the highlands of PNG.
Nowek aim to be the premium specialty coffee producer in PNG and are committed to the continuous development of the PNG coffee industry by constantly and consistently investing in education and training. Nowek believe that continuous improvement is driven by upholding their social, ethical and environmental standards - they call this the Nowek standard.
There is a symmetry between the core values of Nowek and those held by Raw World Company. Empowering local farmers and giving them a sustainable future whilst also producing premium quality products. We are really excitied to announce the launch of our first two lines of single origin coffee, our Goroka and our Goroka Peaberry. Both lines come in an espresso roast, a filter coffee, and in Nespresso® compatible 100% biodegradable and compostable capsules.
It's this last line that we are most excited about, a 100% biodegradable and compostable capsule with real single origin coffee! The entire capsule is made from plant materials, sugarcane and sugar beet, and under the right conditions will fully break-down into compost in around 12 weeks. Good for the environment and showcasing premium Papua New Guinea single origin coffee!
