Luke Lennox Charity Shield 2018
Luke Lennox Charity Shield
On Saturday 10 November 2018 the 2nd Luke Lennox Charity Shield will take place at Dodgers Fields, 4 Jacobs Drive Labrador. Raw World Company will have a pop-up stall on the day selling its 'all the good stuff - no nasties' Australian grass fed beef Biltong and giving $1 from each pouch sold to the fundraising efforts. RWC has also committed to $1 from every pouch of Biltong sold in September and October to the Luke Lennox Charity Shield.
Officially endorsed by OzTag Queensland, the Luke Lennox Charity Shield is a chance for the family and friends of Luke Lennox to band together to create a legacy for a young man taken far too soon by the black dog. The inaugural event took place last year on 18 February and saw 37 teams register and compete to help raise $15,200 for A.C.F.C (A Chance for Change) and Livin, mental health charities whose mission is to destroy the stigma attached to mental health illness.
A.C.F.C and their #speakingupismanningup campaign is aimed at preventing depression in men and raising awareness for mental health illness by getting men to speak about their problems and reassuring them that there are people here to listen. Similarly, Livin and their #itaintweaktospeak campaign encourages people to speak to one another about their feelings, issues and challenges and are about providing a supportive network for this to happen.
The team at the Luke Lennox Charity Shield have already had a massive response to the day and are hoping to have 40 teams competing in 2018. They are currently accepting donations for their charity raffle and have already received prize packages from the Brisbane Broncos and South Sydney Rabbitohs. If you play OzTag, why not put a team together and enjoy a great family day raising money for two very worthy charities.
